Jerome Powell has ‘failed’ as Federal Reserve chair
Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-Mass., slammed Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell in an interview with NBC Information’ “Meet the Press” Sunday, saying he “has failed” in his duties and should not be in his function.
“He has had two jobs. One is to cope with financial coverage. One is to cope with regulation. He has failed at each,” she mentioned.
“Look, I do not assume he needs to be chairman of the Federal Reserve. I’ve mentioned it as publicly as I understand how to say it. I’ve mentioned it to everybody,” mentioned Warren, who serves on the Senate Banking Committee.
Powell, who was nominated by President Donald Trump in 2017, has confronted criticism over his dealing with of banking laws following the collapse of Silicon Valley Financial institution.
