The pan-European Stoxx 600 (STOXX) held steady at +0.02% on Tuesday as investor focus turned to corporate earnings, with telecom equipment maker Ericsson (ERIC) reporting a decline in third-quarter revenue, and weakness in the mining sector capping further advances. Markets also continue to monitor risks from the Middle East turmoil.
Coming up in the session: Euro Area ZEW Economic Sentiment Index for October, Canada inflation data, U.S. retail sales and industrial production, along with Bank of America and Goldman Sachs earnings.
In the bond market, the U.S. 10-year Treasury yield was up 4 basis points to 4.75%.
Germany’s 10-year yield was up less than 1 basis points to 2.80%.
U.K.’s 10-year yield was down 1 basis point to 4.47%.
