What is eczema?

It is a group of changes that make your skin irritated and inflamed, causing you intense itching followed by a rash that lasts for days or even weeks, and makes you look uncomfortable. The most famous type of eczema is "atopic eczema", which means a person's susceptibility to other diseases such as asthma and inflammation of the mucous membranes in the nose.

Eczema affects 10% to 20% of newborns, and comes in 3% in adults, and its symptoms in children usually stop when they reach ten years of age, but some symptoms may persist in others for life.

It is unfortunate to know that there is no cure for eczema, but it can be avoided by following some habits while avoiding exposure to its triggers, and taking medications that limit its symptoms. Contrary to belief, eczema is not contagious, and it is not transmitted from one person to another, so you should not be afraid or avoid shaking hands with someone suffering from eczema.

Symptoms of eczema:

The symptoms of eczema differ from one person to another, and the places where it appears differ from one area to another in your body every time it affects you, so there is no specific area where eczema continues to appear every time.

Depending on where eczema appears, it usually begins with intense itching and is followed by a severe rash. This itching may be accompanied by other symptoms such as:

1- redness.

2- Dryness.

3- Cracked.

4- Cracked skin.
